Sports & Leisure
For over 25 years, CJARC has been committed to promoting sports and leisure for the visually impaired. Through its actions, it raises awareness among the general public and the authorities of the capabilities of people living with visual impairment.
The association brings together mixed Torball and Goalball teams. These two sporting disciplines are specially designed for the visually impaired. They involve scoring goals with a sound ball, using the hands to roll the ball towards the opposing team.
Each team is made up of three players and three substitutes. The objective is simple: score a goal while actively defending your line. These activities not only promote inclusion, but also build confidence and independence.
CJARC plays an essential role in the development of the sport for the visually impaired in Cameroon. The organization actively contributed to the reorganization of FECASH (Fédération Camerounaise des Sports pour Handicapés). This initiative led to the creation of several specialized federations, including FECASDEV, dedicated to people with visual impairments.
As a member of FECASDEV, CJARC supports its activities by, for example, providing its conference room to host general meetings. This collaboration has strengthened the structuring of the Paralympic movement, notably through the creation of the Cameroon National Paralympic Committee.
In addition, four athletes from the CJARC are among the first members selected to form the national team. Cecifoot.
